x-posting, the evils of
If there's one thing LJ needs desperately, its an ignore function. When you're in several communities related to the same thing, chances are you're not the only one in all those communities. God help you when someone decides to post the same thing in all of them. The eyesore that is x-posting can literally take up an entire day or two worth of valid posts that I want to read, and it's especially bad when the topic is, of all things, cosplay, the only part of the pokemon fandom I have little to no interest in whatsoever. Simply ignoring chronic x-posters so I do not have to scroll past walls of text would go a long way towards fixing this problem.

To go on record, I have no problem with a little cross-posting now and then, especially if it's only in 1 or 2 of the communities I'm in, or if it's a brief 1 or 2 line post asking a question or telling the maintainer that you changed your journal. You should also list the other communites you've posted it to. That's good form. There should not be a massive fucking picture in each post, or if there is, it needs to go behind a fucking lj-cut. I don't want to read the same paragraph 6 times. If your post(s) pisses me off, I'm not going to answer it or comment on it except maybe to say fuck off. In short, the only attention you'll get from anyone who is in all the communities with you is going to be negative. Just pick the largest, most populous community or the one most tailored to your post and leave it at that. kthxbai

/rant off.

In other news, my world of warcraft guild on Ursin downed Ragnaros, the Firelord for the first time today. It marks the transition of our guild from a casual raiding guild to a serious endgame guild. I'm stoked.

Currently, yes. Although she is by no means the only guilty party :P

Yeah, for her thing, she *should* really tone down the communities she posts in. Especially all at once. I think it's cool, but 8 times in a row? no thanks.

mon congrats on the guild, so we're gonna see even less of you around the comm eh? %D

Yeah, and she seems to do it every time she posts too. On my ex-main journal, I was in a few of the mainstream communities like ask me anything, too much sex info, ect, and I'd see similar things go on that kept me from seeing any of my friend's posts.. And then there were the reptile keeping/pet/small animal communities where people would x-post pictures of their baby ball python to like 15 different communities...c'mon folks, we've seen them before.

Ehh I dunno, I can't play WoW at college (no laptop, laptops suck for WoW anyway =/) but I CAN update LJ. Also, once D&P hits the US, you can bet I'll be rambling daily :P

I've always been nervous the few times I've cross-posted to like, 2-3 different communities. I'm always like (AHHHH, someone might read this 3 times!!!!0101010111). But I have no self-confidence unlike the people who post multiple times with disregard.

Heh, I was forced into buying a laptop for college, the "Laptop Initiative" as it were. Since the whole campus is wireless. The pressure is actually on me now to play WoW from a few scattered groups of friends who are just looking for someone new to go around with.

Yeah when D&P hits, expect me to update 2-3 times per day. XD
